HXP Financial Aid Program

We are beyond grateful for the donors who have made it possible to offer HXP’s Financial Aid Program. This program will provide opportunities for parents and teenagers who are experiencing significant economic difficulties to attend a HXP Trip. 
We understand that many teens and parents are interested in the unique service experience offered at HXP but are limited due to the financial commitment. To help alleviate the cost burden, applications will be available to the HXP Financial Aid program. 
While the majority of our Builders earn the money themselves to attend an HXP trip, the Financial Aid Program is intended to help teenagers and parents whose jobs help with family expenses and who would not be able to attend an HXP trip without Financial Aid. If you have someone in mind that you think might qualify for the Financial Aid program, please send them the application below. 
Applications are due by November 11th and decisions will be announced by November 18th.

  • Youth Builders: Teenagers 14-19 years old during the duration of their HXP Trip
  • Domestic Trips are for Builders 14-16, International Trips are for Builders 16-19
  • Parent Builders: A parent/guardian accompanying their teenager on the HXP Trip
  • Qualify based on financial need *details in application 
  • Agree to follow all HXP rules outlined in the Builder Agreement & Dealbreakers 
What is included in the Financial Aid?
  • The cost of the HXP Trip
  • Airfare from your local airport to the HXP meet-up location

What am I responsible for paying?

  • Potential costs to complete HXP Builder Checklist (notarizing a document, doctors note, etc.)
  • Any necessary supplies, luggage or clothes for the HXP trip
  • Passport Application Fee (International HXP trip only)
  • Optional: souvenir money
  • For Parent Builders: Background Check Fee (~$25)
When do I need to apply?
October 9, 2024 – Applications open
November 11, 2024 – Applications close
November 18. 2024 – Financial Aid recipients will be notified 
December 2-6, 2026 – Financial Aid recipients will register during HXP registration week (for more details regarding registration week, click here)
