HXP: Day in the Life

While we don’t release specific trip itineraries for safety purposes, the structure of all HXP trips is very similar. This layout is not final for your trip, but is to help give you a general idea about what your daily schedule will look like.

Weekend Sightseeing Schedule

Sightseeing schedules will vary based on activity type, travel time, and other factors. All of the experiences we offer have world class sightseeing opportunities! For more information about sightseeing specifics, visit the location pages and Instagram accounts (@hxp.tripname) to get a better look at day-to-day activities on your trip.

Morning & Evening devotion

Each morning and night will include a 1/2 an hour devotion time with the whole group. Builders and Trip leaders will take turns in leading these devotionals. The group will also pull from written devotionals written around the HXP theme of the year and have time to reflect and write about their experiences.

Worksite

Whether it’s a Build, Love, Refuge, or Preserve trip, most of the day is spent working at the construction or service site. It’s a deeply bonding experience as everyone works together, with plenty of water and snack breaks, fun games, and opportunities to interact with the locals.

Bus Time

Many trips involve daily bus rides, which turn into a fun part of the day. Trip leaders keep the energy high, transforming long drives into chances for the group to bond through games, sing-alongs, and shared laughs.

Meals

HXP is dedicated to providing safe and tasty meals. Builders can look forward to enjoying a variety of local dishes along with some classic American favorites.

Evening Activity

Every evening offers something unique. Some common activities include ward FHE, sports nights, market shopping, pool parties, cultural nights with the ward, or a hike.

Church

The group will have the opportunity to attend a local ward each Sunday they are on their trip. Can I get an AMEN??? Builders are encouraged to spread out within the congregation to meet and connect with local members. If church is in another language, trip leaders and missionaries help translate.

Splits with missionaries & ward devotionals

On Sunday afternoons and evenings, the Builders will spend time with local missionaries and visit families in the area. They will also host a devotional for the members of the ward they attended earlier that day with musical numbers and talks. These have been fan favorites and pivotal points for Builders!

Letters home

On the second Sunday of the trip (and on Wednesday for domestic Builders), the builders write a letter home, sharing meaningful experiences they have had so far. Trip Leaders will send this letter to families via email.
